My Journey
My name is Rochell Laurencine. I am an Accountant by profession, but my life took a powerful turn during one of the darkest seasons I’ve ever faced. I was clinically diagnosed with depression and struggled with anxiety. There were days where I felt unseen, unheard, and misunderstood. Seeking professional help was a courageous step, and through that journey I began to heal. Today, I am thriving, but I carry with me the lessons of resilience and hope.
Why I Started Breaking the Silence
Mental health became more than a personal battle, it became a calling. The stigma surrounding it weighed heavily on me, and I realized that many others were silently navigating their own storms without support or a safe space to speak. I knew I had to act. That’s why I started Breaking the Silence: to raise awareness, provide support, and remind people that healing is possible.
What This Space Offers
Breaking the Silence is more than an initiative, it’s a community. Here, voices are valued, stories are honored, and strength is reborn. My mission is to let every person know: you are not alone. Support is real, healing is within reach, and together we can thrive.

My Journey
My name is Cassie Henville-John, and my journey has been shaped by lived experiences, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping others feel seen and supported. Like many, I’ve navigated seasons of emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, and feeling unheard while trying to carry on as if everything was fine. Those experiences taught me the importance of safe spaces; places where people can speak openly without fear, shame, or judgment.
Over time, I became passionate about emotional well-being, self-reflection, and personal growth, not only for myself, but for the many people who silently struggle without knowing where to turn. I’ve learned that what people often need most is not advice or fixing, but presence, compassion, and a reminder that they are not alone.
Why I’m Part of Breaking the Silence
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been someone others naturally turned to. In workplaces, family settings, and friendships, I often found myself in the role of mediator, helping resolve conflict, soften difficult conversations, and adjust messages so they could be received by different personalities. It came naturally to me, even before I had the language to describe it.
For many years, however, I felt unsure of where I truly fit. I believed purpose had to look traditional; a specific title or clearly defined career path and I didn’t recognize that what I had been doing all along was already a gift. It wasn’t until my thirties that I had a quiet but powerful realization: nurturing, problem-solving, empowering others, and helping people see beyond the moment they feel stuck was my purpose.
Life experiences deepened that understanding. I saw how many people carry pain silently, how fear and embarrassment prevent us from asking for help, and how easily we judge ourselves for emotions we don’t fully understand. What changed everything for me was learning to speak instead of hide, to replace embarrassment with curiosity, and self-judgment with compassion.
I discovered that healing doesn’t begin with having all the answers; it begins with honesty. When we allow ourselves to talk openly without shame, we create space to cope, grow, and move forward. Through that journey, I came to understand something deeply: many people don’t lack strength or blessings; they simply can’t see them clearly while they’re in pain. Sometimes all that’s needed is someone to hold space, gently reframe the moment, and remind them of who they are beneath the struggle. I believe this space can help people recognize that they are not broken, not alone, and not weak for needing support. By normalizing open conversation and shared experience, we create a starting place where courage feels possible and healing can begin
What I Bring to This Space
I bring a lifelong ability to listen deeply, communicate thoughtfully, and help people navigate emotional complexity with clarity and care. Throughout my life, this has shown up naturally in how I support others by holding space, reframing moments of overwhelm, and helping people reconnect with their inner strength when they can’t see it for themselves. With a clearer understanding of my purpose and natural strengths.
